Doc's Shake Shoppe originally opened in August of 1970, in a one room building, converted from a barber shop. 

 

The founder, Dr. Leopoldo Magpoc envisioned Doc's Shake Shoppe being a place where his children could work during their summer breaks. 

 

Since opening, all of Dr. Magpoc's seven children either ran or worked at the ice cream shoppe. Dr. Magpoc's son, Mike, is the sole owner of Doc's and has been running the shoppe since 1980. Even today, if you stop by Doc's Shake Shoppe for a cool treat, you will still find one of the doctor's grandchildren hard at work. 

 

Due to construction on State Road, the original Doc's Shake Shoppe building had to be torn down. Luckily, Doc's was relocated to a building in the back of the property, allowing more space for Doc's to provide as customer parking and to expand our menu.
